ST. CLAUDE AVENUE BRIDGE - LA 46 (1/24/22)
The LADOTD has announced the following lane restrictions for roadway improvements on St. Claude Avenue (LA 46):
- Eastbound at the St. Claude Bridge (Poland Avenue to Reynes Street): Alternating lane closures Monday, January 24, 2022 through Friday, January 28, 2022, from 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM daily, while crews perform concrete median work.
- Westbound at the St. Claude Bridge (Reynes Street to Poland Avenue): Alternating lane closures Monday, January 24, 2022 through Friday, January 28, 2022, from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM daily, while crews perform concrete median work.
All work associated with these lane closures is weather permitting.
The Port of New Orleans owns and operates four bridges (St. Claude Avenue, Florida Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, and Seabrook) across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. To help expedite vehicular traffic during peak drive times, the St. Claude and Florida Avenue Bridges will not be drawn for maritime traffic during restricted hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday), excluding federal holidays, except in the case of an emergency. These restricted hours are known as bridge curfews.
St. Claude Avenue Bridge (LA 46)
The St. Claude Avenue Bridge is operating normally. See notice above regarding lane restrictions for roadway improvements.
Florida Avenue Bridge
The Florida Avenue Bridge is operating normally, but it is currently being raised to a reduced height of 146 ft. due to a control system issue. However, the bridge will be raised to its full height of 156 ft. for vessels that need additional clearance or request a full opening.
Almonaster Avenue Bridge
The Almonaster Avenue Bridge is operating normally.
Seabrook Railroad Bridge
The Seabrook Bridge is operating normally.
