ST. CLAUDE AVENUE BRIDGE (LA 46) – LANE RESTRICTION
Eastbound traffic on the St. Claude Avenue Bridge will be reduced to one lane on Monday, September 23rd, from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM, for bridge repair work. Both westbound lanes and the pedestrian walkways will remain open, and the bridge will operate normally for marine traffic.
ALMONASTER AVENUE BRIDGE (formerly the L&N Bridge)
The Almonaster Avenue Bridge will be closed to marine traffic for five (5) hours on September 24th & 25th for railroad track repairs, as shown below:
Almonaster Bridge – Marine Traffic Closures:
- Tuesday, September 24th, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (noon)
- Wednesday, September 25th, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (noon)
The track repair work will be performed by CSX Transportation, Inc. and any questions should be directed to Mr. Chris Harmon, Bridge Supervisor, CSX Transportation (251-434-1430 or 716-213-7186).
Note: The Almonaster Bridge remains closed to vehicular traffic due to roadway conditions.
The Port of New Orleans owns and operates four bridges (St. Claude Avenue, Florida Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, and Seabrook) across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. To help expedite vehicular traffic during peak drive times, the bridges will not be drawn for maritime traffic during restricted hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday), excluding federal holidays, except in the case of an emergency. These restricted hours are known as bridge curfews.
